• All Parents are asked to take part in the Youth Protection program, where you take an on-line course in protecting our youth at myscouting.org.  At this site, you can register, take the test and print your certificate.  This test is re-taken every two years as a refresher.  This is mandatory for all leaders.

  

    Cub Scouting is lead by Adult volunteers.  Current Pack and Den Leaders are just like you; they have jobs, kids and busy schedules.  Every Pack needs parents to be involved with their son and needs volunteers to keep the Pack and the Cub Scouting program going.  There are volunteers at the Pack level- Cubmaster, Assistant Cubmaster, Committee Chair, Advancement Chair, Treasurer, etc.  And there are volunteers at the Den level, with Den Leaders and Den Leader Assistants. The training to become an Adult Leader can be completed thru on-line segments: 'Youth Protection training', 'This is Scouting', 'Fast-Start Orientation training', and 'Position-Specific training'.  This training takes just a few hours and can be taken any time of the day- 24/7.

• If any Parent is interested in becoming a Leader, please contact Bruce at cspack90@sbcglobal.net or at 630-220-9297.  See the 'What to Expect' section for information on monthly time involvement.  Each Scout will purchase a handbook for their Den level.  In this handbook, a number of achievements are done to receive their rank Advancement for the year.  The requirements for Advancement are noted in the back of each handbook.  The Den Leader chooses from the list of Achievements available to accomplish the requirements for the year.  The Den Leader simply guides the Scouts thru the Achievements
